Happy 100th Post

I don't know how many of you have been following along - but this is post 100.  It will be a short one as it is 4:28 am.  One of my clients is having issues running their payrolls - and it is for one of the largest cities in the US so I am working.  Keep your fingers crossed because we are waiting for confirmation that they are back up and going!

So last night my husband pulled out the box of toys.  Totally on his own he wanted to play.  I had a feeling it wouldn't take that long and I was right.  I like to be right.

And now for the guilt part.  I went to a funeral this morning, a friend's mom passed.   During the services my mind wandered (more than once) to the fun my husband and I had last night.  Then I was brought back to reality thinking about the fact that I was in church and at a funeral.  Sick I know - BUT - I hope everyone at my funeral is thinking about good sex they had - that will make me happy!  And my mind wandered during the readings and not during the eulogy - which makes me feel like I'm not that bad.  I've never been particularly good at paying attention in church but this might be the first time my mind has wandered in that direction.

Can't believe this is post 100.  I really have enjoyed this - I am posting less - not sure why the pull hasn't been there.  I think I have just been too tired.  I hope to get back into posting more often!

  2. I work for a large computer consulting company. Started as a programmer 19 years ago. I work in a division that designs and develops payroll, tax and benefit software for state and local governments. Until last month I managed customizations for our clients, now I work with clients that are 'live' with our software supporting them when they run into problems. I manage two accounts - it is fun challenging work that I get to do full time from home. I am very lucky. Sometimes, like last night it means a very late night to make sure the good folks working for my client get their paychecks!

  3. Thanks for sharing your experiences Mrs. Yes. It's been an interesting read and I hope that my wife and I can have as satisfying sex life as it sounds like you've got when we're your age (just celebrated our 11th anniversary over the weekend!)

  4. Glad he got the toys out himself, that has to feel good.

And I think everyone's mind wanders at some point during church.

  5. It's a pretty well-known phenomenon for people to connect death and sex in their minds. Evolutionarily speaking, sex is, after all, the way we replenish the population we lose through death. It's the same reason there tends to be a baby boom after a war.

It might be a little weird to deal with the dissonance, but I don't think there's anything "sick" about thinking idly about sex at a funeral. It happens.

  6. What were you doing at a funeral when you didn't need to mourn?

    No, really. Think about that.

    1. Funerals are for the family and I was there to support the family. I have already decided that I will not have a funeral or wake. There will be a catered dinner or lunch instead. My family knows that my biggest wish for them when I am gone is to LIVE!
